Nearly time for BIBA again and this year will be our seventh since we set up the business. Aside from catching up with old friends and meeting new contacts, I’m really looking forward to getting the chance to talk to everyone about our new commercial product range. We spent a lot of time researching the market and asking brokers and our staff alike what new cover should be included, I am really pleased with the end result. The new wordings are transparent and as straightforward to read as possible. We have pushed the boundaries by taking out excesses and other restrictions, while thinking about areas we can add value like adding restrictive covenants and crisis communication cover.
We are particularly keen to speak to brokers about roll-over portfolio transfers, whereby we agree to write commercial legal insurance standalone policies in exchange for more competitive premiums, higher commissions plus full account management support, such as onsite training of brokers staff and marketing assistance. Profit share can also accompany this if the portfolio is sizeable. A number of brokers are already enjoying such a partnership, but we seeking more.
